Big Eater

It's funny to start to see the differences between Noah and Riley. Jason and I have been joking lately that all the money we have saved over the years with the lack of food that Noah eats, we are now spending on Riley! On the other hand, while Noah is sure to be the most hydrated kid around--he drinks milk and juice by the gallon-full--it is hard to get Riley to finish even a small bottle of formula or take a few sips of water. He's just not that interested. But I swear, Riley eats his weight in food. In the past few meals he has consumed entire cereal (Nutri-Grain) bars, a whole snack-size cup of peaches, baby cereal and baby food, Gerber Graduates pasta pick-ups, Gerber Lil' Crunchies snacks, Cheerios, a sloppy joe sandwhich, pieces of corn, Teddy Grahams, bread, waffles. You name it, he'll eat it. And the sheer quantity that he can consume in one meal is just amazing! Of course, our only other comparison eats like a bird, but still.
The other night we were on the phone with my mom just laughing at how much Riley was eating. We must have been taking to her for over 30 minutes and we kept saying, "Riley's still eating...Riley's still eating..." So I took this video for her at the end of Riley's meal when we had finally just tossed some munchy snacks on his tray to keep him content until we could finish our dinner :) [sorry for all the background noise.]
On a side note, Noah once again took three bites of something new last night--a sloppy joe sandwich. We kind of said it was hamburger again, but even after he realized it had "a yucky sauce" on it, he still finished his three bites. The corn was a definite no-go, but progress is still progress.

  1. What a contrast for sure! At least Noah is trying new things:) Guess that won't be a problem for Riley!
